The Story
Founded in 1990, the Korn Ferry Tour is owned and operated by the PGA TOUR and serves as the primary pathway to the PGA TOUR, developing the next generation of golf’s biggest stars. Each season, the Tour awards 20 PGA TOUR cards based on the season-long points list, with the No. 1 player also earning exemptions into the following year’s THE PLAYERS Championship and U.S. Open.
Korn Ferry Tour alumni have captured more than 700 PGA TOUR victories, 33 major championships, and eight FedExCup titles, and they make up more than 80 percent of the PGA TOUR’s current membership. Notable alumni include Amarillo native Ryan Palmer, World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, Lubbock native Sean O’Hair, Will Zalatoris, Justin Thomas, and many more.
The OccuNet Classic presented by Amarillo National Bank brings 156 of the world’s top rising professional golfers to Tascosa Golf Club to compete for a $1 million purse. Stay tuned for the announcement of the 2027 tournament dates, and join us as tomorrow’s PGA TOUR stars compete in Amarillo.

Community
The OccuNet Classic is deeply committed to being an integral part of the Amarillo community and the surrounding Texas Panhandle. Our mission extends beyond tournament week, as we strive to make a lasting impact through charitable initiatives and year-round community engagement.
One of our core objectives is to grow the game of golf and provide educational opportunities for local youth. With the nearest First Tee and Girls Golf chapters located nearly 200 miles away, this tournament serves as a vital platform to introduce young players to the sport while emphasizing the life skills and values that golf instills.

Additionally, we are honored to recognize and support members of the military and their families, paying tribute to their sacrifices while creating opportunities for their involvement in the event.
Beyond the course, the OccuNet Classic will actively collaborate with local charities, leveraging the tournament’s platform to raise awareness and funds for organizations dedicated to serving those in need. Through these partnerships, we aim to make a meaningful and lasting difference in the lives of individuals and families throughout the region.
By combining community engagement, youth development, and charitable impact, the OccuNet Classic aspires to be more than just a premier golf event—it will be a force for positive change in Amarillo and beyond.
